Hello everyone,
This month has gone so fast – I can’t believe that we are almost in February! It does really feel like a bit of a blur, but the beginning of every year always seems to be, doesn’t it?
As part of Project Pan, I have promised to show you what I managed to finish this month.

Surprisingly, I got through very little, but also a lot at the same time. I have so many little samples, so just by number, I feel like i really achieved a lot! However, by volume… not so much.
Anyway, here are my thoughts about each one.

Clarins Multi-Active Jour Moisturiser
This is a staple in my skincare routine. These were samples given to me because I buy the full size product directly from the Clarins counter in Myer. I got 2 uses from each satchet, which is pretty good!
Verdict: Rebuy

Clarins Multi-Active Nuit Moisturiser
This is a travel size night cream I got as part of a promotion. I don’t usually purchase the full size cream because I use other products, but when I use this at night my skin is just so hydrated the next day! Especially in winter – this helps so much with dry skin.
Verdict: Rebuy

Clarins Hydrating Toning Lotion
Again, another sample. I have owned the full size toner in the past and it worked well. It definitely wasn’t drying or irritated my skin, however there are probably better ones on the market that aren’t as expensive.
Verdict: No buy

Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser
This cleanser smells like oranges and is less abrasive compared to other exfoliating cleansers. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve found anything on the market that has the same texture. My skin felt really nice afterwards and still hydrated. I’ve used this many times in the past and I’ve had no issues with irritation or adverse effects.
Verdict: Rebuy

Clarins Hydrating Gentle Foaming Cleanser
It’s not fully foaming, as the texture is more creamy, however it feels very gentle on the skin. It’s not great at removing oil based makeup, but I double cleanse anyway. This is a staple in my skincare because it quite nourishing and doesn’t feel heavy or leave a bad residue afterwards.
Verdict: Rebuy

Clarins Pore Control Serum
I was grateful to receive this as a sample, but I don’t think it really did anything for my skin. I didn’t really see a difference in my pores… however, I liked the texture as it was quite lightweight. I saw a little bit of a blurring effect when I put on my makeup, but it wasn’t anything special.
Verdict: No buy

Chanel Serum Revitalisant Au Camelia Rouge
I loved this serum. My pores just sucked it up. It wasn’t sticky and my skincare layered so well over it! It really does help with hydrating skin and fine lines. I have the full size of this product and I am going to use it sparingly because it’s so expensive. However, the full size will probably last me the rest of the year, so it’s not a bad investment.
Verdict: No buy (for now)

Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum
Definitely hydrating, but also super expensive. Texture wise, it was a little thick but didn’t have that stickiness feeling. I didn’t really notice any significant change to my complexion. I do feel like there are better (and cheaper) serums on the market that can deliver similar results.
Verdict: No buy
Well, obviously Clarins dominated my empties list for January, but honestly it’s because I have been using the brand for many, many years. I received the Chanel samples because I attended a free skin consult for the launch of their Camelia range and I have to admit, some of the products in the line are really good.
Anyway, that’s my January roundup and I’m sure that I will have even more empties to showcase in the coming months 🙂
If you’re doing Project Pan too, how did you go this month? Did you have any of the same products as me? Any insights? I would love to hear from you 🙂
Much Love,
